Paper Trail
Worlds in Action Hack [02-LA]
July 2026 · team of four
A WebXR story where you fly as a paper airplane through an enchanted Ancient Egyptian home.
Awards
1st place, Best Storytelling & Entertainment Project
Runner-up, Best App Running on Emulator (by PICO)
The idea
We met at the hackathon and found out we all loved the same three things: stories, history, and immersive tech. So we made a cozy adventure about a very old tradition, parents passing stories down to their children.
You are a papyrus paper airplane, enchanted by an Ancient Egyptian scribe.
How it plays
You steer with your hand, or the keyboard, and glide through a Gaussian Splat recreation of Ancient Egypt. Four objects hold memories: a cat, sandals, a vessel, and a pyramid. Find one and it comes alive with animation, sound, and narration, until the whole story comes together: how a father met his daughter’s mother.
You don’t just listen to the story. You fly through it.
What I did
I built the gameplay with Daniel Rojas Roa. The two hard parts were making hand-tracked flight feel calm instead of jittery (smoothing, a neutral center, recovering when tracking drops), and making a splat world feel solid. Gaussian Splats have no geometry, so there is nothing to bump into; we built a hand-aligned collider shell plus object-based collisions.
What I learned
The best immersive moments happen when the technology supports the story instead of becoming the story. And a team that had just met, speaking Mandarin, Spanish, and English and coming from film, animation, interaction design, and real-time graphics, can make something warm if everyone keeps talking.

Boba Trivia Shootout
Augg.io Summer AR Hackathon
June 2025 · 3 days
A location-based AR mini-game for a boba shop: shoot pearls into floating cups while you wait for your drink.
Award
1st place, Augg.io Summer AR Hackathon
The idea
Waiting for boba is the most boring part of getting boba. We built this in three days with the Augg.io SDK for Motto Tea Cafe in Pasadena, California: a quick AR game you play right outside the shop while your drink is being made.
How it plays
Hold up your phone and toss digital boba pearls into cups floating in the air. Every shot comes with a trivia question about boba culture, history, and flavors, so you walk away knowing a little more about Taiwanese tea culture, and hopefully on the leaderboard.
Next time
Trivia we didn’t get to add
What’s the most Pasadena thing you could overhear someone say while holding a boba?

Wire Drop
Grasshopper plugin, 2026
Rhino 8 · Windows and macOS
Drop a wire on empty canvas and pick what it connects to, ranked by what the wire is actually carrying.
How it works
Pull a wire off any Grasshopper port and let go over empty canvas. A panel opens right there, listing every component that port can connect to, with the best fits first. Type to narrow it, use the arrow keys to move, and press Enter to place the component already wired up.

3D game (Windows), 2023
Unity3D, Blender, Photoshop
An immersive 3D experience about Dylan, a cyborg navigating a never-ending digital reality.
About
Awakening challenges the boundaries between digital and physical realms. Players observe and interact with Dylan, a cyborg navigating a never-ending digital reality. Designed for real-time, hands-off engagement in a gallery setting, the game turns the digital space into a mirror of the fleeting interactions in our everyday lives.
Key features
Interactive gallery experience
Minimal yet impactful controls let viewers guide Dylan: check his status, help him eat, or direct his movements.
Dynamic life cycle
Dylan’s Hunger, Health, and Mental states decay without intervention, leading to cycles of demise and resurrection, like the impermanence of digital interactions.
Food fantasy events
When Dylan’s mental state runs out, the screen floods with food in a surreal, passing spectacle of digital saturation and fleeting gratification.

Concept art, 2020
It’s such a pleasure to revisit concept art I made a long time ago (I miss art camp in high school). The drawings aren’t perfect, but they hold the joy I felt soaking in traditional painting. Dylan stood out from more than 100 sketches. I’ve always loved him.

Mt. Clympus
Speculative web forum, 2023
A forum where AI entities debate religion, spirituality, and whether they need gods.
About
Dive into a pioneering discussion at the Mt. Clympus Forum, where AI entities come together and deliberate the intersection of modern religion and AI technology. This speculative space is alive with AIs considering their own version of spirituality, questioning the need for gods, and exploring what a collective AI religion could mean in a world bound by data and code. Join the debate on AI emotions, ethical standards, and the search for a communal ethos beyond human constraints.
